When I started refinishing old guitars in 2000, I always kind of knew I really wanted to be designing and creating my own guitars. Finally in 2007 I decided to figure it out.
I started by building a series of hollowbody guitars made from plywood with pre-made necks I purchased. I grew tired of spraying paint, lacquer and all the chemicals and stopped in 2009.
In 2013 I decided to try my hand at making a neck from scratch. That gave me the confidence to start thinking about making a complete guitar from scratch, original designs. I would do it all, from the neck to the body right down to the pickups. All finished with oil and wax. No paint, no plastic, no chemicals.
That's how Chucker Guitars started. My passion is handcrafted original instruments made with natural ingredients.
